Joseph McGeachy was born on Wednesday, 21st April, 1920, in Glasgow.

The forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Thursday, 21st September, 1944, having most recently been with Dennistoun Waverley.

Aged 24, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 30th September, 1944, in a 4-3 win away to Hamilton Academical in the Southern League.

That day, Joe became a member of our scoring debutant's club.

He scored the last of his 12 goals on Saturday, 27th October, 1945, in a 5-3 win at home to Kilmarnock in the Southern League.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 29th March, 1947, in a 4-2 friendly win away to Dumbarton, having appeared as a Jag on 71 occasions.

His club-list included Dennistoun Waverley, Partick Thistle, Third Lanark, Leyton Orient, Hereford United, Workington and Alloa Athletic.

Joe died on Monday, 24th June, 1985, in Glasgow, aged 65.
