Bio Extra

Usually reported whilst a Jag as Hutchison or Hutcheson. We believe that Joe gave up the football after 3 seasons, due to a knee injury, probably after arriving at Bootle in August, 1892. Seems to have been a bit of an interesting character. KW (31/5/1928) has him ('J. Hutchinson') taking over as manager of a theatre in Wolverhampton, and states that he was a former actor, boxer, publicity man, and professional footballer. We haven't found out too much about his alternative careers, but note that 'Joe Hutchinson' fought 'Young Lippo' at West London Stadium on October 26, 1914, presumably either in his late 30s or early 40s.
