James McKenzie was born on Saturday, 29th November, 1980, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire.

The 5' 7½ (10st 7lbs) midfielder signed for John McVeigh's Thistle in 1997, having most recently been with Partick Thistle Boys Club.

Aged 16, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 19th April, 1997, in a 2-0 defeat away to Stirling Albion in the SFL First Division.

Jamie scored his only goal for Thistle on Wednesday, 25th February, 1998, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Dundee in the SFL First Division.

He played his last game for the club on Thursday, 25th March, 1999, in a 1-0 friendly defeat at home to Motherwell, having appeared as a Jag on 32 occasions.

Jamie's club-list included Partick Thistle, Cowdenbeath, Albion Rovers, Stenhousemuir, Elgin City, Bellshill Athletic, Cumnock Juniors, Montrose, Fauldhouse United and Vale of Clyde.

Bio Extra

Came through the youth ranks at Firhill, playing in the successful U-18 team of 1997 before breaking into the Thistle first team the following season. Despite relegation for Thistle, the season ended on a high for Jamie as he was capped by Scotland at Under 17 level. He struggled to gain a regular spot in the Thistle first team the following year, and during the summer he left Firhill to sign for Raith Rovers.
