Jamie Low |
![]() James Low was born on Sunday, 30th September, 2007, in Paisley, Renfrewshire. The 6' 0 (11st 0lbs) defender was introduced to Brian Graham & Mark Wilson's Thistle in the springtime of 2025, whilst a Partick Thistle U-18s player. Aged 17, he made his debut appearance on Friday, 9th May, 2025, in a 2-0 win away to Ayr United in the SPFL Premiership play-offs. We look forward to seeing him score his first goal for Thistle. Jamie's club-list includes only Partick Thistle - good man! |
![]() His first word was "ball" and it seems his destiny was set early. This Greenock-based left back has been dedicated to the game since he was 4. All of his youth days were spent with East End United until the club folded in 2021, and he moved on to Thorn Athletic. It was there Thistle scouts picked up on him in February 2023, and a deal was done a few months later to bring him into the fold at the Partick Thistle Youth Academy, a move which excited Jamie, bringing him closer to his dream of making a professional career in the game. Jamie impressed during his first two seasons at the Academy with plenty of assists from the left flank, and has even got in there for a few goals too. In competitive action, he netted in a 3-2 win over Livingston in April 2024 and rattled home a thunderous strike into the top right corner in a 2-0 win over Dunfermline in February 2025. He got a taste of higher grade reserves level in the Glasgow Cup during both of those seasons, and Mark Wilson brought him for some first team training sessions in the springtime of 2025. In March, Jamie featured in a closed doors match versus Motherwell, giving him some more valuable experience. With injuries dictating, the 17-year-old Jamie was called up for a surprise first team debut right at the height of Thistle's promotion battle in May 2025. With Thistle trailing Ayr United 0-1 from the first leg of the play-off Quarter Final, Jamie replaced (the still concussed) Daniel O'Reilly at left back for the trip to Somerset Park. During the build up to the big game, gaffer Brian Graham promised "the kid" £100 if he could get an assist on the board. Talk about incentive… within 6 minutes, Jamie's beautifully flighted corner was turned home by Brian Graham at the back post. It was the quickest debut assist since Archive records began (2012-13) arriving one minute earlier than Scott Tiffoney's assist vs. Cowdenbeath in March 2021! Almost 2,000 Jags fans were in raptures. Predictably, Ayr United targeted Jamie as a potential weak-spot, but he largely stood up to the challenge well and put in a performance that was good enough to be man-of-the-match were it not for the incredible Brian Graham himself, who said in his interview after the game that Jamie reminded him a lot of James Penrice, high praise indeed. |
