Jamie Barclay was born on Friday, 29th September, 1989, in Falkirk.

The 6' 0 (14st 0lbs) goalkeeper signed for Ian McCall's Thistle on Friday, 7th December, 2007, having most recently been with Falkirk.

Aged 18, he was listed as a substitute for the first time on Saturday, 8th December, 2007, in a 2-1 win away to Queen of the South in the SFL First Division.

There were no registered first-team appearances for Jamie in his time at Thistle.

At September, 2024, Jamie's club-list included Falkirk, Partick Thistle, East Stirlingshire, Berwick Rangers, Clyde, Stenhousemuir, Dumbarton, Kilwinning Rangers, Cumnock Juniors and Irvine Meadow XI.

Played for Falkirk, Partick Thistle, Berwick Rangers, Clyde, Stenhousemuir, Dumbarton and East Stirlingshire, and was capped for the Scotland U21 side in 2010. In September 2016, Barclay re-signed for East Stirlingshire, on a short-term deal until the opening of the next transfer window but agreed to remain with the club on 14 December 2016. Barclay was named as club captain in February 2019 after Danny Ashe signed a pre-contract agreement with Lowland League rivals Kelty Hearts. After 4 years with East Stirlingshire, Barclay decided to leave the club in May 2020, and later signed for Kilwinning Rangers in June. After the West of Scotland Football League season was declared null and void, Barclay joined Dumbarton on an emergency loan in April 2021 - but did not make an appearance for the club. After two seasons at the Buffs, Barclay left to join rival Premier Division club Cumnock Juniors.
