James Williamson was born in Glasgow, although we've been unable to establish a date as of yet. * The 5' 10 (10st 0lbs) forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Tuesday, 22nd June, 1937, having most recently been with Kilmarnock. He made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 15th September, 1937, in a 3-1 win away to Kilmarnock in the SFL First Division. James scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 30th October, 1937, in a 2-1 win at home to Falkirk in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 6 goals on Tuesday, 3rd January, 1939, in a 4-2 defeat at home to Rangers in the SFL First Division. That turned out to be his last game for the club, having appeared as a Jag on 35 occasions. His club-list included Ardrossan Winton Rovers, Kilmarnock, Partick Thistle and Stenhousemuir. James died in April, 1962. *
