James C. Stewart was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. *

The defender signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Saturday, 28th April, 1934, having most recently been with Fauldhouse United.

He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 9th May, 1936, in a 3-0 win away to St Mirren in the Paisley Charity Cup.

There were no goals for James during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 21st May, 1940, in a 2-1 defeat away to Clyde in the Glasgow Charity Cup, having clocked up 109 appearances as a Jag.

His club-list included Fauldhouse United, Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers, Polkemmet and Bo'ness United.
