Bio Extra

We know little of this defender, although the Stirling Observer, reporting on his only-known appearance, revealed the forename of James, which was a stroke of good fortune for us. 450 were at Muir Park on 15th September 1883 for the visit of Falkirk, with James featuring at left back.

Falkirk may have been glad Thistle largely played with 10 men throughout. Thistle led 6-0 at h-t but the 2nd half was a more even contest and Falkirk (who lost a man to injury on the hour mark) had Thistle pressed back for long spells and scored a couple of late goals to, at least, draw the 2nd half.
