James Ross Pinkerton was born on Thursday, 21st September, 1911, in Rothesay, Argyll and Bute. The forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Tuesday, 28th March, 1933, having most recently been with Bute Athletic. Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 23rd September, 1933, in a 4-3 defeat away to Queen of the South in the SFL First Division. There were no goals for James during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Monday, 1st January, 1934, in a 2-0 win at home to Clyde in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 5 occasions. His club-list included Bute Athletic, Partick Thistle, Montrose, Blackburn Rovers and St Bernard's. James died in 1989, in Rothesay, Argyll and Bute, aged 77. |
