![]() James Lamb was born in 1876, in Scotland. The forward signed for Thistle on Friday, 16th October, 1896, having most recently been with Jordanhill Juniors. Aged 19 or 20, he made his first known appearance on Friday, 24th October, 1896, in a 9-2 win at home to Newton Stewart in the Scottish Qualifying Cup. James scored his first two known goals for Thistle on Friday, 31st October, 1896, in a 4-1 friendly win at home to Cambuslang. He scored the last of his 15 known goals on Saturday, 3rd December, 1898, in an 8-3 defeat at home to Celtic in the SFL First Division, netting a brace on the day. That turned out to be his last known game for the club, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 26 occasions. His club-list included Jordanhill Juniors, Partick Thistle, Falkirk, Linthouse, Abercorn and Bristol Rovers. We don't know where or when James died. *
