James Hamilton was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for George Easton's Thistle on Friday, 22nd August, 1913, having most recently been with Clyde. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 23rd August, 1913, in a 4-3 defeat away to Falkirk in the SFL First Division. James scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 22nd November, 1913, in a 4-2 win at home to Kilmarnock in the SFL First Division. He scored his second and final goal for the club on Saturday, 20th December, 1913, in a 2-1 win at home to Raith Rovers in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for Thistle on Tuesday, 28th April, 1914, in a 1-0 defeat away to Queen's Park in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 32 occasions. His club-list included Queen's Park, Clyde and Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when James died. *
