James Dorans was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. *

The midfielder signed for George Easton's Thistle on Thursday, 28th November, 1907, having most recently been with Abercorn.

He made his debut appearance on Thursday, 30th April, 1908, in a 1-1 draw at home to Hibernian in the SFL First Division.

There were no goals for James during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 21st November, 1908, in a 5-1 win at home to Morton in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 4 occasions.

His club-list included Neilston Victoria, St Mirren, Abercorn, Partick Thistle and Vale of Leven.
