James Bennett |
James Bennett is thought to have been born in 1887, and is most likely to be Scottish. * The defender signed for George Easton's Thistle on Saturday, 14th August, 1909 (after a trial period), having most recently been with Dunblane. Aged 21 or 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 1st May, 1909, in a 3-1 defeat away to Rangers in the Glasgow Charity Cup. There were no goals for James during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Monday, 25th April, 1910, in a 3-1 friendly defeat away to Maryhill / Glasgow Perthshire XI, having appeared as a Jag on 27 occasions. His club-list included Dunblane and Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when James died. *
