 J. Martin (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward joined Thistle in 1885. He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 29th August, 1885, in a 5-1 friendly win away to Morton. There were no known goals for Martin during his spell with Thistle. He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 20th February, 1886, in a 2-1 friendly win at home to Dumbarton Athletic, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 5 occasions. His known club-list included only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Martin died. *
