 J. Bennie (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The defender probably joined Thistle in 1877. He made his only known appearance on Saturday, 19th January, 1878, in a 4-1 win at home to Cowlairs in the West Of Scotland Cup. That day, Bennie became a member of our scoring debutant's club. His known club-list included only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Bennie died. *
