Bio Extra

Out of a number of very shrewd moves in the transfer market by John Lambie the signing of Ian Cameron was among the very best. Signed on the eve of the 92/93 season, Thistle's first back in the Premier League, he missed just two games scoring five times from midfield as Thistle defied the critics to stay in the top division. Cameron was also part of the Thistle sides that did the same in each of the following two seasons before the heart breaking play-off defeat at Tannadice in May 1996 meant relegation for Thistle. With just 40 seconds remaining it looked as if Cameron's second half penalty would keep Thistle in the Premier league for another season but fate decreed otherwise. Joined Hibs that summer before moving to Raith Rovers.
