A. Player

probably born in Scotland

Hosie (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. *

The forward appeared for Thistle in November, 1891.

He made his only known appearance on Saturday, 7th November, 1891, in a 7-0 defeat at home to St Bernard's in the Scottish Alliance League.

There were no goals for Hosie in his only known appearance for Thistle.

His known club-list included only Partick Thistle.

We don't know where or when Hosie died. *

Bio Extra

With regards to his nightmare sole appearance (a 7-0 defeat at home to St Bernard's), the Scottish Referee didn't speak of Hosie directly, but wrote: "The fates were against the Partick Thistle, a chimney on fire conspiring against them, the smoke from it completely obscuring the Saints goal for some time. This did not matter much, the shooting of the forwards being wretched."

Incidentally, this 'Hosie' played for us at outside left, and is unlikely to be the 'J. Hosie' who appeared as a right back 5 seasons later.
