Horace Gordon Alfred Woolley was born on Wednesday, 29th May, 1912, in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire.

The forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle on Saturday, 28th September, 1935, having most recently been with Vale of Leven Old Church Old Boys.

Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 7th December, 1935, in a 2-0 win at home to Dunfermline Athletic in the SFL First Division.

Horace scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 14th December, 1935, in a 5-3 defeat away to Motherwell in the SFL First Division.

He scored the last of his 3 goals on Saturday, 10th April, 1937, in a 4-2 defeat away to Motherwell in the SFL First Division.

That turned out to be his last game for the club, having appeared as a Jag on 17 occasions.

His club-list included Larbert Amateurs, East Kilbride Thistle, Vale of Leven Old Church Old Boys, Partick Thistle, Blackburn Rovers, Dundee United, Morton and East Kilbride Amateurs.

Horace died in 1996, aged 83 or 84. *
