Hill |
![]() Hill (forename unknown) was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward appeared for Thistle in December, 1885. He made his only known appearance on Saturday, 5th December, 1885, in a 1-1 friendly draw away to Clyde. There were no goals for Hill in his only known appearance for Thistle. His known club-list included only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Hill died. *

![]() Mystery man Hill featured at inside left in his only known appearance for the Jags, a 1-1 draw versus Clyde at Barrowfield Park in December 1885. “Thistle were feebly represented which perhaps accounts for the result” said the Athletic News in a very straightforward manner. There was nothing much between the teams but Clyde went ahead (10) before Thistle equalised with “a fine header” by Bob Robertson. Clyde went down to 10 men after h-t but Thistle only managed a few chances and had to settle for a draw. |

Historian's note: Could well be the same player as Hugh Hill who was the second eleven captain and registered several first team appearances from 1889-90 onwards, but we haven't found a link to make us comfortable with the 3+ years gap.
