Bio Extra

This St Paul's United inside left moved to Pollok in the close season of 1918, but was hardly there at all when George Easton improved his personal terms and lured him to Firhill. He featured in 7 league games for Thistle in 1918-19, away wins at Hamilton (2-1, September) and Hibs (2-0, January) being the highlights. A 1-3 Firhill to defeat to Dumbarton in late January 1919 signalled the end of his involvement though. By August 1919, the unfortunate news broke that the SFA were to hear a claim made against Thistle by Laverty for unpaid wages.
