 Hector MacKenzie Shand was born on Thursday, 1st May, 1879, in Inverness. The 5' 10 (12st 6lbs) forward temporarily transferred to Thistle in August, 1905, from his parent club, Inverness Thistle. Aged 26, he made his only appearance on Tuesday, 22nd August, 1905, in a 1-0 win at home to Port Glasgow Athletic in a Benefit match. That day, Hector became a member of our scoring debutant's club. His club-list included Citadel, Southampton, Inverness Thistle, Partick Thistle, Middlesbrough and Millwall Athletic. Hector died in January, 1942, in Barnet, Greater London, aged 62. (Buried on the 13th at Havering.) *
