![]() Samuel Hastie Weir was born on Friday, 24th October, 1930, in Whitburn, West Lothian. The goalkeeper signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle on Saturday, 10th October, 1964, having most recently been with Motherwell. Aged 34, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 21st November, 1964, in a 3-3 draw away to Dundee in the SFL First Division. There were no clean-sheets for Hastie during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Monday, 15th March, 1965, in a 3-1 defeat at home to Clyde in the Glasgow Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 3 occasions. His club-list included Baillieston Juniors, Queen's Park, Motherwell and Partick Thistle. Hastie died on Tuesday, 21st December, 1999, in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, aged 69. |
