Hamza Bencherif was born on Tuesday, 2nd February, 1988, in Paris.

The 6' 3 (16st 10lbs) midfielder joined Alan Archibald's Thistle for a trial in July, 2014, having most recently been with JS Kabylie.

Aged 26, he made his only appearance on Saturday, 19th July, 2014, in a 1-1 friendly draw away to Dumbarton.

There were no goals for Hamza in his one-off appearance for Thistle.

At July, 2023, his club-list included Nottingham Forest, Lincoln City, Macclesfield Town, Notts County, Plymouth Argyle, JS Kabylie, Partick Thistle, Halifax Town, Wrexham, York City, Guiseley and Worksop Town.

Bio Extra

Born in Paris, he has played in the Football League for several clubs and represented Algeria at youth international level. Bencherif made seven appearances, scoring one goal, for the Algeria national under-20 team from 2005 to 2006. A call-up to the senior team was talked about in 2009 due to his form at Macclesfield Town before a broken ankle ended his season. Bencherif signed for National League North club Guiseley on 24 June 2019. On 9 January 2021 he was appointed Club Captain.
