Graham Connell was born on Thursday, 31st October, 1974, in Glasgow. The 5' 11 (11st 10lbs) midfielder signed for Tommy Bryce's Thistle on Monday, 27th July, 1998 (after a short trial period), having most recently been with Clydebank. Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 18th July, 1998, in a 3-2 friendly win away to Stranraer. Graham scored his only goal for Thistle on Saturday, 19th December, 1998, in a 2-1 win at home to Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the SFL Second Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 8th May, 1999, in a 2-2 draw away to Queen of the South in the SFL Second Division, having appeared as a Jag on 42 occasions. Graham's club-list included Ipswich Town, Clydebank, Partick Thistle, Stirling Albion, Queen's Park, Queen of the South, Berwick Rangers, Dumbarton and Stenhousemuir. |
A regular in the team during 98/99, Graham was given a free transfer at the conclusion of the campaign. A hard working midfielder, Connell scored once for Thistle a spectacular strike against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. |
