James Gordon McGregor was born on Thursday, 15th November, 1956, in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

The 5' 11 (12st 8lbs) forward signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Saturday, 2nd December, 1978, having most recently been with Frankston City.

Aged 22, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 10th February, 1979, in a 6-0 friendly win away to Girvan Amateurs.

That day, Gordon became a member of our scoring debutant's club, and even added a second for good measure.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 15th December, 1979, in a 5-1 defeat away to Celtic in the SFL Premier Division, having appeared as a Jag on 8 occasions.

Gordon's club-list included St Johnstone, Mooroolbark, Frankston City, Partick Thistle, Stirling Albion and Clyde.
