 Gordon Lennon was born on Tuesday, 15th February, 1983, in Larne, County Antrim. The 6' 1 (11st 3lbs) defender signed for Ian McCall's Thistle on Saturday, 16th June, 2007, having most recently been with Albion Rovers. Aged 24, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 11th July, 2007, in a 2-0 friendly defeat away to Montrose. There were no goals for Gordon during his spell with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Thursday, 26th July, 2007, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Albion Rovers, having appeared as a Jag on 5 occasions. His club-list included Albion Rovers, Partick Thistle, Stenhousemuir and Dumbarton. Gordon died on Sunday, 7th June, 2009, in Inverness, aged 26. |

 This Larne-born defender started his career in 2005 at Albion Rovers, where he was named player of the year in 2006-07. In the summer of 2007, after several weeks of negotiations, Scottish First Division club Partick Thistle signed Lennon, beating Ross County and Airdrie United to his signature. Manager Ian McCall expected at the time that Lennon would fight for a first-team place at the club. Although he featured in several pre-season matches, he made no competitive appearances for the first team and spent most of his first season on loan to Stenhousemuir. After moving to Dumbarton in 2008, Lennon became club captain and helped secure the team's promotion to the Scottish Second Division, winning the 3rd Division title in 2008-09. Tragically, Lennon died in an off-road accident at the age of 26 while on a family break near Dingwall – the car in which he was a passenger struck an electrical pole which snapped causing live wires to fall onto the bodywork, and he was fatally electrocuted when he tried to exit the vehicle. In August 2010, it was reported that a fatal accident inquiry would be held at Dingwall Sheriff Court regarding Lennon's death (see 'Scrapbook' tab). In his personal life, he was father to a son, Kai, with his partner Kelly Dempsey. |
