Gordon George Arthur was born on Friday, 30th May, 1958, in Kirkcaldy, Fife.

The 5' 11 (12st 0lbs) goalkeeper temporarily transferred to Peter Cormack's Thistle on Wednesday, 14th March, 1984, from his parent club, Stirling Albion.

Aged 25, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 14th March, 1984, in a 5-1 win away to Ayr United in the SFL First Division.

There were no clean-sheets for Gordon during his spell with Thistle.

He played his second and last game for the club on Saturday, 17th March, 1984, in a 2-1 defeat away to Raith Rovers in the SFL First Division.

Gordon's club-list included Dundonald Bluebell, Dundee, Stirling Albion, Partick Thistle, Dumbarton, Raith Rovers, Forfar Athletic, Arbroath and Montrose.

Bio Extra

During a period of injury to John Brough, Gordon was signed on loan from Stirling Albion. His first game was in a great 5-1 victory at Somerset Park which endeared him to the fans. Played in only two games but made a great impact and there were calls for him to be signed permanently. Stirling's first-team keeper, he was recalled to Annfield and from there joined Dumbarton and then Raith Rovers.
