Gerald Joseph Doyle was born on Wednesday, 17th February, 1965, in Glasgow.

The 5' 8½ (10st 0lbs) defender signed for Peter Cormack's Thistle on Thursday, 21st May, 1981, having most recently been with Auchengill Boys Club.

Aged 17, he made his debut appearance on Wednesday, 28th July, 1982, in a 3-1 friendly defeat away to Linlithgow Rose.

There were no goals for Gerry during his time with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 29th September, 1984, in a 3-2 defeat away to Ayr United in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 69 occasions.

Gerry's club-list included Partick Thistle, Pezoporikos Omilos Larnacas, Alloa Athletic, Bannerman, Stranraer and Dumbarton.
