![]() George J. Keenleyside was born on Sunday, 4th August, 1889, in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear. The 5' 8 (12st 0lbs) forward signed for George Easton's Thistle on Saturday, 17th December, 1910, having most recently been with Jarrow Croft. Aged 21, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 31st December, 1910, in a 2-1 win at home to Hibernian in the SFL First Division. George scored his first goal for Thistle on Monday, 2nd January, 1911, in a 1-0 win at home to Third Lanark in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 5 goals on Saturday, 18th March, 1911, in a 1-1 friendly draw at home to Arthurlie. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 25th April, 1911, in a 3-0 defeat away to Celtic in a Benefit match, having appeared as a Jag on 12 occasions. His club-list included Jarrow Royal Oak, Jarrow Park Villa, Jarrow Croft, Sunderland, Dinnington Main Colliery Welfare, Partick Thistle, South Shields, Hartlepools United, Chester-le-Street Town and Jarrow.
