George Drummond |
George Drummond was born on Monday, 17th January, 1876, in Alva, Clackmannanshire. The forward signed for Thistle on Friday, 6th May, 1898 (after a trial game), having most recently been with Seafield Thistle. Aged 22, he made his first known appearance on Wednesday, 4th May, 1898, in a 6-1 win at home to Rugby Rovers in a Benefit match. That day, George became a member of our scoring debutant's club, and even added a second for good measure. He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 17th December, 1898, in a 3-1 defeat at home to Third Lanark in the SFL First Division, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 4 occasions. His club-list included Seafield Thistle, Partick Thistle, Falkirk and Albion Rovers. We don't know where or when George died. *
