George Allan [i] |
George Allan was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for Thistle on Wednesday, 22nd December, 1897, having most recently been with Leven Thistle. He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 25th December, 1897, in a 6-2 defeat away to Heart of Midlothian in the SFL First Division. That day, George became a member of our scoring debutant's club, and even added a second for good measure. He scored the last of his 6 known goals on Saturday, 24th September, 1898, in a 4-1 defeat at home to St Mirren in the SFL First Division. He played his last known game for the club on Wednesday, 3rd May, 1899, in a 4-0 defeat away to Queen's Park in the Glasgow League, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 22 occasions. His club-list included Leven Thistle, Partick Thistle and Hamilton Academical. We don't know where or when George died. *
