Gavin Fletcher was born on Thursday, 30th October, 1941, in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire. The 5' 10 (11st 6lbs) forward signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle on Wednesday, 18th May, 1960, having most recently been with Queen's Park. Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Monday, 22nd August, 1960, in a 5-1 win at home to Queen's Park in the Glasgow Cup. That day, Gavin became a member of our scoring debutant's club. He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 12th April, 1961, in a 3-2 defeat away to Third Lanark in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 3 occasions. Gavin's club-list included Queen's Park, Partick Thistle, Shotts Bon Accord, Third Lanark, Bradford City, Stranraer and Whitburn Junior. |
