Fred Allen was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for Donald Turner's Thistle circa January, 1943, having most recently been with Dennistoun Waverley. He made his debut appearance on Saturday, 2nd January, 1943, in a 3-3 draw away to Celtic in the Southern League. That day, Fred became a member of our scoring debutant's club, and even added a second for good measure. He scored the last of his 3 goals on Saturday, 15th May, 1943, in a 3-2 defeat at home to Third Lanark in the Glasgow Charity Cup. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 5th June, 1943, in a 5-2 defeat at home to Hibernian in the Summer Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 5 occasions. Fred's club-list included Dennistoun Waverley and Partick Thistle.
