Euan East |
Euan Baillie East was born on Saturday, 5th July, 2000, in Paisley, Renfrewshire. The 6' 0 (12st 2lbs) defender joined Kris Doolan's Thistle for a trial period in July, 2023, having most recently been with Queen of the South. Aged 25, he made his only appearance on Tuesday, 4th July, 2023, in a 2-1 friendly win away to Kelty Hearts. There were no goals for Euan in his one-off game for the Jags. At September, 2023, his club-list included Johnstone Burgh, Queen's Park, Albion Rovers, Queen of the South, Partick Thistle and Linfield. |
This striker-turned-centre-back, a product of St Mirren's youth system, got his first taste of men's football in the juniors with Johnstone Burgh, before starting his senior career at Queen's Park, where he was primarily used as a substitute, scoring once in the 2018–19 season. On 11 July 2019, East signed for Albion Rovers, scoring seven league goals during his solitary season for the Coatbridge club. At the end of that season, East rejected a contract offer from the Wee Rovers, instead preferring to chase a full-time contract elsewhere. On 25 September 2020, East signed a full-time contract with Queen of the South before the start of the 2020–21 season. He spent three seasons at Palmerston, racking up almost 100 appearances in all competitions. It was during his last two seasons at Palmerston where central defence became his primary role in the team. Wearing the #2 shirt, East appeared as a trialist for Thistle in a 2-1 pre-season friendly win at Kelty Hearts early in July 2023, replacing debutant Wasiri Williams on 55 minutes. He made the switch to Northern Irish football for season 2023-24, signing a one year deal with Linfield on 1st September 2023. |
