Edward McCandlish was born in 1921, in Glasgow. * Aged 19 or 20, the goalkeeper appeared for Donald Turner's Thistle in November, 1941, having most recently been with Glasgow Perthshire. He made his only appearance on Saturday, 15th November, 1941, in a 6-1 defeat away to Motherwell in the Southern League. His club-list included Glasgow Perthshire, Falkirk, Hibernian and Partick Thistle. Edward died on Tuesday, 5th November, 1971, in Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, aged 70.
