Edward Hernon was born on Thursday, 7th October, 1965, in Ballieston, Glasgow.

The 5' 10½ (11st 3lbs) midfielder signed for Benny Rooney's Thistle circa Saturday, 9th June, 1984, having most recently been with Drumchapel Amateurs.

Aged 18, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 28th July, 1984, in a 2-0 friendly defeat away to Queen's Park.

There were no goals for Eddie during his spell with Thistle.

He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 30th January, 1985, in a 4-2 defeat away to Meadowbank Thistle in the Scottish Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 4 occasions.

Eddie's club-list included Drumchapel Amateurs, Partick Thistle and Auchinleck Talbot.

One of six players signed from Drumchapel Amateurs at the start of the 84/85 season, Eddie played steadily for the reserves at right back or in midfield, but was unable to make the step up to the first team. Released at the end of the season.
