Duncan Brown was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. *

The defender first appeared for Thistle in February, 1890, having most recently been with Gainsborough Trinity.

He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 22nd February, 1890, in an 8-1 friendly win at home to Clyde.

There were no known goals for Duncan during his spell with Thistle.

He played his second (and last known) game for the club on Saturday, 8th March, 1890, in a 5-3 friendly win at home to St Bernard's.

His club-list included Arbroath, Gainsborough Trinity and Partick Thistle.

Bio Extra

First signed for Arbroath in June 1888 and was a regular at half-back for a year and a half before heading southwards for Gainsborough Trinity in November 1889. Duncan landed at Inchview a few months later to try out for Partick Thistle. In both of his home friendly games - an 8-1 win vs. Clyde on 22nd February and a 5-3 win over St Bernard's two weeks later - he played at left-back. Duncan returned to Arbroath in the summer of 1890, and featured in the following two seasons at Gayfield, including the inaugural season of the Northern League in 1891-92. Arbroath would be champions the following season.
