James Douglas Mitchell was born on Wednesday, 15th December, 1948, and is most likely to be Scottish. *

The forward signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Friday, 22nd November, 1974, having most recently been with Ayr United.

Aged 25, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 23rd November, 1974, in a 1-0 defeat away to Airdrieonians in the SFL First Division.

Doug scored his only goal for Thistle on Wednesday, 12th March, 1975, in a 2-0 friendly win at home to Vejle Boldklub.

He played his last game for the club on Wednesday, 19th March, 1975, in a 1-0 defeat away to Celtic in the Glasgow Cup, having appeared as a Jag on 7 occasions.
