 Derek Young was born on Tuesday, 27th May, 1980, in Glasgow. The 5' 8 (12st 1lbs) forward signed for Dick Campbell's Thistle on Wednesday, 30th August, 2006, having most recently been with St Johnstone. Aged 26, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 9th September, 2006, in a 5-1 defeat at home to St Johnstone in the SFL First Division. Derek scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 16th September, 2006, in a 2-1 win away to Hamilton Academical in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 5 goals on Saturday, 14th April, 2007, in a 2-1 win at home to Dundee in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 28th April, 2007, in a 0-0 draw at home to Livingston in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 32 occasions. Derek's club-list included Lewis United, Aberdeen, Dunfermline Athletic, St Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Grindavík, Greenock Morton, Queen of the South, Forfar Athletic and Formartine United. |
