Bio Extra

One of the most talented players to have played with Thistle in recent seasons, Derek made his Thistle debut as a trialist, before signing a short term deal with the club, in the 3-1 defeat by Stirling Albion in October 1999, the only game Thistle lost while Ferguson was at Firhill. Derek decided to accept an offer to play in Australia and left Thistle in November, but returned to Scotland soon after and signed for Ross County. Made his County debut against Thistle but it was an unhappy one as County lost and Ferguson was sent off.
