Declan F. Roche was born on Friday, 9th October, 1970, in Dublin.

The 5' 11 (11st 0lbs) midfielder signed for John Lambie's Thistle on Saturday, 12th January, 1991, having most recently been with Celtic.

Aged 20, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 19th January, 1991, in a 3-2 win away to Clydebank in the SFL First Division.

Declan scored his first goal for Thistle on Wednesday, 30th January, 1991, in a 4-3 defeat away to Falkirk in the Scottish Cup.

He scored his second and final goal for the club on Saturday, 9th March, 1991, in a 5-1 win away to Raith Rovers in the SFL First Division.

He played his last game for Thistle on Monday, 12th August, 1991, in a 1-0 win away to Meadowbank Thistle in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 18 occasions.

Declan's club-list included Celtic, Partick Thistle, Dundalk, Cork City, Shelbourne, Derry City and Portmarnock.

Bio Extra

Joined Thistle from Celtic early in 1990 as a young player of some promise, and was capped at Under-21 level for the Republic of Ireland while a Thistle player. He was unable to regain his place in the Thistle side after recovering from a nasty injury picked up in match against Meadowbank Thistle at the Commonwealth Stadium in August 1991. He is probably best remembered for scoring one of Thistle's three goals in the epic 4-3 Scottish Cup defeat against Falkirk in January 1990.
