Bio Extra

In December 2016, the 30-year-old Irvine Victoria defender - brother of Vics boss Stevie - made the heartbreaking call just days before Christmas that he would retire from the game for his own well being. He had suffered a relapse of an old knee injury in Vics’ last game before the festive break β€” a 3-1 defeat at Shotts Bon Accord. However, a whole year later, he made a comeback, playing 17 times before retiring naturally at the end of season 2017-18. His 5 season 100+ appearances with the Vics from 2013-14 onwards was in stark contrast to his 16 year journeyman career prior to that.
