David Walker |
David Walker was born on Tuesday, 9th May, 1961, in Glasgow. The 5' 11 (11st 12lbs) defender signed for Benny Rooney's Thistle circa Saturday, 9th June, 1984, having most recently been with St Mirren. Aged 23, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 28th July, 1984, in a 2-0 friendly defeat away to Queen's Park. There were no goals for David during his time with Thistle. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 18th April, 1987, in a 2-1 win away to Morton in the SFL First Division, having clocked up 101 appearances as a Jag. David's club-list included Johnstone Burgh, St Mirren, Partick Thistle, Floreat Athena and East Stirlingshire. |
Signed from St. Mirren, David was a versatile defender who played either at right back or centre-half. He played regularly in the three seasons he was at Firhill until he left the club to emigrate to Australia, although he did return to Scotland a few years later and joined East Stirling. |
