David Stevenson |
David Stevenson was born on Sunday, 26th October, 1958, in Scotland. * The defender signed for Bertie Auld's Thistle on Wednesday, 9th February, 1977, having most recently been with Carluke Rovers. Aged 19, he made his only appearance on Monday, 31st July, 1978, in a 3-1 defeat away to East Kilbride Thistle in a Benefit match. There were no goals for David in his one-off appearance for Thistle. David's club-list included Carluke Rovers, Partick Thistle, Benburb, Neilston Juniors, Lesmahagow, Dumbarton and Falkirk.

This centre half served his footballing apprenticeship with Bertie Auld's Thistle, newly promoted to the Premier League, but never got near a first team which included mighty Jagsmen such as Jackie Campbell and Andy Anderson. Eventually left to strengthen his men's game in the juniors, before enjoying two seasons in the Scottish First Division, beginning with Billy Lamont's Dumbarton in 1982-83, followed by Falkirk the following season. |
