 David Fairbairn was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The forward signed for Thistle on Tuesday, 27th October, 1899, having most recently been with Celtic. He made his first known appearance on Saturday, 28th October, 1899, in a 3-2 win away to Morton in the SFL Second Division. David scored his first known goal for Thistle on Saturday, 4th November, 1899, in a 2-0 win away to Airdrieonians in the SFL Second Division. He scored the last of his 11 known goals on Saturday, 17th March, 1900, in a 4-0 win away to Clyde in the Western League, signing off with a brace. He played his last known game for the club on Saturday, 17th August, 1901, in a 2-1 defeat away to Airdrieonians in the SFL Second Division, having appeared for the Thistle on at least 27 occasions. His club-list included Celtic, Partick Thistle, Leith Athletic and Raith Rovers. We don't know where or when David died. *
