![]() David Closs was born on Sunday, 1st June, 1941, in Paisley, Renfrewshire. The 5' 8 (10st 11lbs) midfielder signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle circa Saturday, 7th May, 1960, having most recently been with Troon. Aged 19, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 3rd December, 1960, in a 3-1 win away to Raith Rovers in the SFL First Division. That day, David became a member of our scoring debutant's club. He scored the last of his 4 goals on Monday, 17th April, 1961, in a 2-0 friendly win away to Luton Town. He played his last game for the club on Saturday, 23rd October, 1965, in a 4-3 defeat away to Dunfermline Athletic in the SFL First Division, having appeared as a Jag on 69 occasions. David's club-list included Troon and Partick Thistle. |
