 Daniel Patrick Gray was born on Thursday, 24th April, 2008, in Wishaw, North Lanarkshire. The 6' 1 (11st 2lbs) forward was introduced to Mark Wilson's Thistle in October, 2025, whilst a Partick Thistle U-19s player. Aged 17, he made his debut appearance on Friday, 7th November, 2025, in a 1-1 draw away to Airdrieonians in the SPFL Championship. He scored his first goal for Thistle on Tuesday, 30th June, 2026, in an 8-0 friendly win at home to Kilbirnie Ladeside. His club-list includes Partick Thistle and Kilwinning Rangers, where he is currently on loan until January, 2027. Daniel is contracted at Firhill until May, 2028. |
 This young forward, who can play centre or on the right wing, was playing up to the under-19s level as season 2025-26 got underway, and scored on his competitive debut in a 4-3 league win at home to Edinburgh City. Gary Irvine's 19s got off to a great start in the league, winning all 6 of their opening games and, by mid-October, Daniel was sitting top of the goals chart with 4 to his credit, all in the league. With the new rules in place that allowed some over age players to appear at 19s level, Daniel played alongside Steven Lawless and Zander MacKenzie in one of those games, all good in the development process. His good start earned him an early call-up to Mark Wilson's first team, Daniel making the bench for a league game away to Morton on 11th October 2025, when he witnessed Tony Watt and Alex Samuel combining brilliantly to salvage a late point for the Jags. Just a month later, Daniel made his debut in the same black third kit, coming on at the Excelsior Stadium with around 15 minutes to go, and Thistle trailing Airdrie by a goal to nil. There was a similar outcome as Thistle came from behind to salvage a point in stoppage time. Black magic! He finished 2025-26 as top scorer with the 19s, hitting 14 in all competitions. Along with his Thistle Academy team mates Steven Docherty and Josh Miller, Daniel signed a two year modern apprenticeship deal in June 2026. It wasn't long until he was celebrating his first Thistle goal in a pre-season friendly win over Kilbirnie Ladeside and, not long turned 18, he became the youngest Thistle scorer since Aidan Fitzpatrick in 2019! On 18th August 2026, Thistle announced that Daniel was heading for Kilwinning Rangers of the Lowland League West (5th tier) on a loan deal until January 2027. |
