 Dan McLindon was born on Sunday, 3rd March, 1940, in Dunfermline, Fife. The 6' 1 (11st 1lbs) forward signed for Willie Thornton's Thistle on Friday, 30th October, 1964, having most recently been with St Johnstone. Aged 24, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 31st October, 1964, in a 2-0 defeat away to Dunfermline Athletic in the SFL First Division. Dan scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 7th November, 1964, in a 3-0 win away to Morton in the SFL First Division. He scored the last of his 15 goals on Saturday, 11th January, 1969, in a 2-1 win away to Hibernian in the SFL First Division. He played his last game for the club on Tuesday, 3rd March, 1970, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Clyde in the SFL First Division, having clocked up 161 appearances as a Jag. Dan's club-list included Bellshill Athletic, Dunfermline Athletic, St Johnstone, Partick Thistle, Stranraer and East Stirlingshire. |
