 Cullen was probably born in Scotland, although his place and date of birth remain unknown to us. * The goalkeeper appeared as a guest for Thistle in May, 1894, possibly whilst a player from the junior grade. He made his only know appearance on Saturday, 19th May, 1894, in a 3-0 friendly defeat at home to Dumbarton. His known club-list included only Partick Thistle. We don't know where or when Cullen died. *

 Nothing is known of this goalkeeper who appeared only once for the first team, to the best of current knowledge. The Scottish Referee did mention that Thistle tried a few juniors in the friendly game with Dumbarton on 19th May 1894, so it's very likely that Cullen was one of these. There was, of course, the famous Joe Cullen who kept goal for Celtic at this time (and played for Celtic on the same day). Perhaps our Cullen is a brother? |
