Colin William West was born on Tuesday, 19th September, 1967, in Middlesbrough.

The 5' 7 forward temporarily transferred to Derek Johnstone's Thistle on Friday, 19th September, 1986, from his parent club, Chelsea.

Aged 19, he made his debut appearance on Saturday, 20th September, 1986, in a 2-0 defeat away to East Fife in the SFL First Division.

Colin scored his first goal for Thistle on Saturday, 4th October, 1986, in a 2-2 draw away to Dumbarton in the SFL First Division.

He scored the last of his 10 goals on Tuesday, 3rd March, 1987, in a 2-1 defeat at home to Kilmarnock in the SFL First Division.

That turned out to be his last game for the club, having appeared as a Jag on 26 occasions.

Colin's club-list included Chelsea, Partick Thistle, Swansea City, Dundee, Hartlepool United and Bishop Auckland.

Bio Extra

Much has been written already in this season's programmes about Colin West. At the time he was on loan from Chelsea, and proved himself a popular and dangerous player with pace, control and strength. He returned to Chelsea and immediately made his first team debut, scoring against Arsenal. He returned to Scotland in 1990/91 to play for Dundee.
